JDC Unveils Free IT City in Lahore, Offering State-of-the-Art IT Courses at No Cost


In a landmark move towards technological development, Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, inaugurated the province’s first Free IT City at APS School, Model Town. This groundbreaking initiative, in collaboration with the JDC Foundation, aims to equip Punjab’s youth with advanced IT skills.


Courses Offered at JDC Free IT City Lahore


The Free IT City will provide a variety of contemporary IT courses, including,

- Amazon

- Graphics

- CorelDRAW

- Walmart

- Web Development

- Ali Baba

- Python

- Cisco

- Shopify

- CIT

- Woo Commerce

- Upwork

- Daraz

- Ebay

- Etsy

- English Language

- Abode

These courses, which last between two to three months, will culminate in the awarding of merit-based certificates, heralding a new era in Punjab’s educational landscape.


Aligned with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision, this initiative aims to empower students and young people in Punjab with vital IT skills. The Free IT City at APS School is the first of many such centers planned across Punjab.


Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized the critical importance of IT proficiency in today’s world, noting that a nation’s progress depends on its mastery of IT and technical skills. He highlighted that these courses, which were previously costly, are now accessible to everyone, breaking down financial barriers in education. The Free IT City is set to become a pioneering institution with annual admission targets, dedicated to equipping Punjab’s youth with modern skills to address challenges like unemployment.


Expressing gratitude to the JDC Foundation for their support in establishing the IT City, Rana Sikandar Hayat reiterated the government’s commitment to this initiative. The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Provincial Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and JDC General Secretary Zafar Abbas, among others.
